Bradley University Employee Data Breached
Bradley University recently announced that it suffered a data breach affecting approximately 4,700 current and former employees and their families. The University stated that malware had been detected on two University computers that contained personally identifiable information including Social Security numbers. Reports show that fraudulent tax return filings have been discovered for a number of employees. The investigation is being handled by the FBI and Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Division. There is currently no indication that student data has been compromised but the investigation is still ongoing.

The University set up a response center aimed at answering questions about the breach. The University is also offering one year of credit monitoring service and identity theft protection to the affected individuals. More information is available at https://www.bradley.edu/.
